The Best Restaurants in Glasgow's West End

As Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, it is no shock that there are over 600 restaurants, of which most are independently owned. This creates a huge variety of amazing restaurants all selling different cuisines. Below are 2 of my favourite restaurants in the West End.

Elena's Spanish Bar & Restaurant

On the corner of Old Dumbarton Road, is the gem which is Elena's. Offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks, Elena's is the perfect spot to go for Tapas food, and with outdoor and indoor seating it can be enjoyed all year round! The interior reflects old Spanish routes making it feel very authentic and unique. They have an extensive menu with many dishes for different tastes e.g. fish, vegetables, various meats, paella as well as a variety of desserts.

With Tapas being the main selling point, sharing multiple dishes is encouraged and although this might make your meal slightly more expensive, it is a lovely restaurant where you definitely get what you pay for: high quality delicious food!

Bo’Vine Meats and Wine

Next up is Bo’Vine Meats and Wine, which is a great spot to visit if looking for somewhere more fancy to dine. The variety of menu types ( A La Carte, Main menu, Market Menu’s and group dining deals) have a wide selection of delicious food and plates, making it a great place to visit if there are different dietary requirements within your group.
Steak is one of their specialities and from previous visits it is always cooked to perfection and never disappoints! The sides on offer are also delicious and always fresh. The wine (another speciality) and their drinks selection is great and provide a variety of lovely alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.
Located right next to the botanic gardens on Byres Road it is easily accessible, with a short walk to Kelvin Side Subway Station and plenty of on street parking in surrounding areas. From the outside, the restaurant gives a dark and classy vibe with the black sign contrasting against the bright building. Inside, the restaurant is gorgeous with a variety of booths, tables and bar seating, it makes it the perfect place to get together with your friends for a lovely meal and great night out.
