The Best Cafés in Glasgow's West End

When walking around Glasgow’s West End, cafés follow your every step and if you look in there is rarely one that's empty! Read on to find out more about 2 of my favourite spots to grab a cake and coffee!

Broken Clock Café and Patisserie

First up, we have Broken Clocks Café located on Park Road. The blue exterior and modern white interior makes this spot feel very modern and clean, whilst still maintaining a comfy vibe. Inside there are many tables to sit at and enjoy the goodies they sell. 

You may be asking what makes Broken Clock Café different from every other nearby coffee shop? And the answer is simple: their cakes and pastries. Their delicious flavoured pastries are baked to perfection! However, their sweeter treats are the real show stoppers, playing with illusions and colours to create beautifully, bright glazed cakes which are often in unusual shapes such as cakes resembling an apple or acorns! 

To accompany their amazing cakes they have various drinks on offer such as teas, coffees and soft drinks. The Coffee on offer is lovely and smooth and makes the perfect combination with the sweet treats.

Sonny and Vito's

A recent favourite of mine is the perfect spot which is Sonny and Vito’s. Located on the corner of Park Road, it is the perfect place to go if you’re looking for a cosy Café. The dark sign really reflects its interior, usually a dark interior can be off putting but in this case it creates a more intimate and relaxing atmosphere. With the use of plants and artwork on the walls , it adds style and even more personality to Sonny and Vito's.

Here you can enjoy homemade meals such as soup and sandwiches or if you’re looking for a treat they have many homemade cakes which are amazing! Some cakes on offer are carrot cake, lemon cake, muffins and empire biscuits plus much more! Although this café is slightly more expensive than your Starbucks, it is definitely worth the money with bigger cakes and much nicer coffee blends on offer. As for drinks, they sell many different soft drink brands, teas and styles of coffee or if you’re looking for a glass of wine they have many types to choose from.
